You bring up some extremly good points!

We recently wrote an article on informed consent at Brain Blogger. What informed consent really should be is an thorough discussion with your doctor to inform you of the facts of whatever he/she needs your consent for. But, unfortunately, it can't always be that way.

We would like to read your comments on our article. Thank you.

Sincerely,
KellyUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04516516230400292075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2287270004973617575.post-21397869950717536522008-06-27T20:42:00.000-04:002008-06-27T20:42:00.000-04:00I think the part that really scared/bothered me ab...I think the part that really scared/bothered me about the decision (besides the outcome) was the lengthy quote from Gonzales v. Carhart. The Eighth Circuit is trying to say that this is all about science and not ideology, and yet they decide to throw in all that "it seems unexceptionable to conclude some women come to regret their choice to abort the infant life they once created and sustained" and "It is self-evident that a mother who comes to regret her choice to abort must struggle with grief more anguished and sorrow more profound when she learns, only after the event...that
she allowed a doctor to pierce the skull and vacuum the fast-developing brain of her unborn child" crap.

The fact that this pseudo-scientific 'abortion hurts women' tripe being peddled by the likes of Harold Cassidy and Leslee Unruh is worming its way into judicial decisions -- buzzwords and sound bites intact -- is pretty frightening.Kelseyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09833213923742764650noreply@blogger.com
